Call for Magazine Submissions

The Anthropology Graduate Student Committee (AGSC) at the University of Idaho is asking for submissions for this first annual Gem: An Idaho Anthropology e-Magazine (working title).  The magazine is intended to highlight the research, academic accomplishments, creativity, and quality of Idaho’s undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty, and alumni of the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, and Boise State University Anthropology Departments.  The magazine will be released in April 2013 as an e-publication, and will accompany the events that the AGSC is organizing and facilitating to celebrate Idaho Archaeology and Historic Preservation Month.

Submissions can include photographic and visual essays, info-graphics, essays, creative non-fiction and other suitable presentation formats.  All types of submissions will be accepted for review; however pieces that relate to this year’s Idaho Archaeology and Historic Preservation Month’s (IAHPM) topic—the Idaho sesquicentennial—will be particularly highlighted in this first issue.  Please limit submissions to no more that 1,000 words.  No minimum is required.  Persons who are presenting at this year’s NWAC, or who have presented at other conferences in the last year are highly encouraged to submit their posters in pdf format and papers.

Submissions are due to Hannah Russell (russ2050@vandals.uidaho.edu) by no later than March 31, 2013.
